Month End Recap Session

Posted on Posted in Month End Recap

I love what I do! Everyday I get inspire people to claim their distinction so they can brave connecting with themselves and with other more meaningfully.

Since last October, I've been offering Guided Reflection sessions at West End Yoga Studio every Monday evening from 8:10 p.m. to 9:10 p.m. While a small number of people attend, I have to say that I'm always amazed at the new insights and lessons people end up after just one hour of working with The Coaching Game

Occasionally I will participate along with the attendees especially during a Month End Recap Session. When we get to the final Monday of the monthly, I like to use the cards from The Coaching Game deck and have participants choose three cards from the deck.

The first card is called the Rejoice Card. The image and word invite us to gather moments from the past month we want to celebrate. The second card is the Reconsider Card. So this card helps us to reconsider the not so pleasant events we encountered during the month. Maybe it was a conflict with a coworker or you ended up in an argument with someone. While the past cannot be undone, this second card allows us to revisit that moment from a different perspective an consider it in a new way. The third card is the Readjustment Card. The word and image on this last card in the process allows us to take what we've learned from the first two cards and gather ideas around an action step we want to execute in the new month to come.

I was very moved by the three cards I ended up picking that I just needed to share them with you too. Now keep in mind that I will be sharing my connections and insights I gained. You will notice something different for yourself.

Card 1: The Rejoice Card

So I picked this card from the deck to be my Rejoice Card. As I spent time observing the image, I first noticed the double image of the person talking and the traffic moving. Initially, the words at the bottom of the card conjured up past memories of conflict I encountered in my life but I reminded myself that this image is to represent moments that occurred over the past month I can celebrate and give cause to rejoice. As I refocused my intention, I couldn't help but notice what looked like a wheel to a motorcycle or bicycle emerging from behind the traffic post. That small detail of the image right way made me realize how I'm moving forward with my coaching business. I had the opportunity to sharing the Coaching Game with members from Central Penn ATD (check out the post).

Card 2: The Reconsider Card

I ended up picking up the Journey card as my next card. The prominent image of the hands right away made me connect with my father. My father has been dealing with bipolar disorder for over 40 years. He has been hospitalized since July 2016. My mom and my two younger brothers ended up putting the house we grew up in for sale because he was unable to take care of it on his own. Last Friday we went to settlement. Friday helped close a five year journey.

Card 3: The Readjust Card

I chose Belief for my final card. I'm drawn to the arrow on the ground and the feet following the direction. The word and image both resonated equally for. It reminded me that over the course of the month I always haven't felt secure about certain decisions I've made. However, one readjustment I will exercise daily during the month of March is believing in myself more. I will make sure to keep note in my Passion Planner the times that I'm staying in a positive mindset.
